Abstract:
Dr. Margitay-Becht’s presentation seeks to introduce the connection of tourism studies and Artificial Intelligence research, specifically that of swarm intelligence. His talk will review some of the latest literature on the topic from interdisciplinary fields. The subsequent discussion, moderated by Dr. Herrera, will address questions about the future of tourism and tourism studies in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Tourism 4.0.
Speakers:
Dr. András Margitay-Becht is a Professor of Economics at Saint Mary’s College of California and also computer science doctoral student at Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem (ELTE), Doctoral School of Informatics. His areas of research include economic development, game theory, and pedagogy.
Dr. Dana R. Herrera is a Professor of Anthropology at Saint Mary’s College of California and also a data science graduate student at the University of London. Her areas of research include digital technology, tourism, and education.
