Gifford Room, 221 Kroeber Hall
University of California, Berkeley
Northern California graduate students, post-docs, and faculty whose work touches on any aspect of tourism and travel are invited to attend this information and organizational meeting as we discuss plans for our upcoming year.
The Tourism Studies Working Group is an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary research forum for graduate students and faculty whose work deals with any aspect of tourism and travel, past and present, in practice and in representation. Our members include scholars from campuses throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area, as well as the rest of the United States and abroad. Graduate students in the early stages of their career are also very welcome.
The Working Group meets regularly on the Berkeley campus for a roundtable colloquium series, where we hear from invited scholars and group members in a seminar format. Since the group was founded in 2003, we have also hosted several symposia, organized two major conferences, and collaborated on conference panels and publications.
Come find out how you can be involved in directing the future of this vibrant organization!
